She was born into a showbiz family,her father is Caleb Deschanel, an Academy-Award nominated cinematographer, and her mother is actress Mary Jo Deschanel (“Twin Peaks”). Zooey’s older sister is actress Emily Deschanel, who stars in the Fox show ‘Bones’.
